2 Died, 1 Hurt Due to Fallen Tree


DAPITAN CITY, Zamboanga Del Norte (Dec. 22, 2018) - an accident transpired at Brgy. Dampalan, Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 8:00 AM of December 21, 2018.

 Three (3) unidentified victims were hit by a fallen Mahogany tree that causes them sustained injuries.

Initial investigation conducted revealed that the three (3) victims identified only as:
        Rey Mag-Usara, (driver) legal age, male, of Brgy. Dasa, Sapangdalaga, Mis. Occidental together with back riders identified as
        Elma Pagasian Mag-usara, 49 years old and
        Estrella Omillada Pactol, 38 years old, both female and residents of Maligubaan, Concepcion, Missamis Occidental were onboard a motorcycle traversing the road going to La Libertad, Zamboanga Del Norte.

However, as they passed by the road of Upper Dampalan, particularly at the farm owned by Alfredo Sy, a Mahogany tree suddenly fell into the highway and accidentally hit them resulting to suffer serious physical injuries.

Victims were immediately brought to Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center for medical treatment but unfortunately, two (2) of the victims Elma Mag-usara and Rey Mag-usara were declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Vincent Troy Monte while the other victim identified as Estrella Pactol was undergone medical treatment at the said hospital.

Implementation of Search Warrant


DAPITAN CITY (Dec 19, 2018) – The joint elements of Zambonaga Del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, CIDG Zamboanga del Norte and Dapitan City Police Station implemented the Search Warrant at Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Aseniero, Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte on December 18, 2018 at about 4:30 AM.

The operation was conducted against Ranulfo O. Paglinawan, Barangay Chairman of La Victoria, La Libertad, but temporarily residing at said Barangay. This is by virtue of Search Warrant no. 10-S-2018 for violation of RA 10591.

The said SW was issued by Hon. Hilarion Jonathan G Maagad, Presiding Judge of MTCC Dapitan, 9th Juicial Region, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte dated December 17, 2018.

During the search, confiscated were the following:
 One (1) unit carbine cal. 30 m2 with sn# 410590;
 One (1) pc magazine assembly of cal. 30 m2 carbine;
 Ten (10) pcs of live ammos of cal. 30 carbine m2;
 One (1) unit norinco cal. 45 pistol with sn # 918579;
 Two (2) pcs magazine assembly of cal. 45 pistol;
 Eighteen (18) pcs of live ammos of cal. 45 pistol; and
 Two (2) pcs fragmentation grenade.

Also recovered from the possession and control of certain Christian Malacat who was in the same house during the search were one (1) Cal 38 revolver and eleven (11) live ammunitions.

At about 8:00 o’clock in the morning, suspects were brought to CIDG office for proper disposition.

Electrocution Incident Resulted to Death

DAPITAN CITY (Dec. 6, 2018) - Electrocution incident occurred at about 9:30 AM of December 5, 2018 took place at Sitio Dap-dap, Brgy Banonong, Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte.

The victim was identified Dolly Mae Recamara Ong, 29 years old, female, married and a resident of same place who was accidentally electrocuted which resulted to her death at said place.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 9:30 in the morning of same date, the victim was decorating for her aunt’s wake and upon testing the lights of such, when she was suddenly electrocuted.

Cadaver was turned over to her family and now lies at the Gamalinda Funeral Investigator on case – PO3 Nick Quimiguing with CP number 9396355137.

Vehicular Traffic Accident


DAPITAN CITY (Dec. 2, 2018) - Vehicular traffic accident was occurred in front of Lite Ferries Ticketing Booth of Brgy. San Vicente, Dapitan City at about 12:00 midnight of December 1, 2018.

Two (2) vehicles were involved of the said accident. Vehicle 1 described as black Pick-Up Toyota Hilux, bearing plate no. YHF505, registered under the name of Universal Fair Corp., (UFCC), driven by Engr. Heremias Tero Julpa, 42 years old, male, a resident of P-28 Aglayan, Malaybalay,Bukidnon who presented his Professional Driver License.

Said vehicle were also on board with four (4) unidentified passengers. Vehicle 2 described as gray Mitsubishi Mirage G4 GLS1, bearing plate no B1-0737, registered and driven by Francisco II Ances Nuñez, 32 years old, male, married, and a resident of 25-H Nichols Heights Guadalupe, Cebu City, who presented his Non Prof Driver’s License.

Initial investigation conducted by Dapitan CPS disclosed that both vehicles went to the said place to buy a ticket. V1, which arrived first and parked in front of the said ticketing booth.

After his companion brought the ticket, the driver of V1, drove his vehicle backward and accidentally hit the V2, which was about to parked, that causes damages at the driver’s door of V2.

Both vehicles were brought to Dapitan CPS for proper disposition. After which, both parties decided to agreed that damages are to be shouldered by V1 via insurance.
